Give Me Oil in My Lamp Keep Me Burning2 ....

Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning, burning,
Give me oil in my lamp, I pray
Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning, burning,
Keep me burning till the break of day ....

Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings
Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna, Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings!

Remember this song? We use to sing it in Sunday School and MIF days. I can even recall the action that we use to do with the song ....

I get a better understanding of this song when I have a new toy in my room. I was introduced to aromatherapy when I lead chapel for the Epiphany service. I love the effects of it!

So, since this is the most stressed term of all the many terms in TTC, I decided that I needed aroma to relax and ease me a little -- off course dear LN say that I drama, lot pattern ... look for distractions ... heheehe .. maybe ... maybe .. there are perhaps some truth to it .... ;)

Now, as a proud owner of this green thing - I burn candles every night in my room ... so, my room look very romantic -- cos I'll off the main light and just leave the table lamp on. I'll leave the candle on even when I go to sleep .... hopefully I do not burn down my room! :)

As I enjoy the aromatherapy, I also begin the realize that I need to top up water in the whatever u call it before it dries up and chau ta.

Likewise, in our lives, we always always need to top up the "water", the living water to keep us going, else we will also live chau-ta lives and "burn" the people around us ....

Only when we are filled with living waters which only Jesus can fill us, that our lives can be sweet fragrance, sweet aroma to people around us .... bringing glory to His name!

Jalan2 Cari Makan ......... Apollo Banana Leaf

It looks like m "partying" away .. makan2 in TTC ... last week, it was Beijing authentic food. This weekend, I had the opportunity to taste banana leaf meal in Spore for the first time. I am actually quite fussy about Indian food because I lived with an Indian family for 4 years in KL when first started working. the family was very nice where besides renting a room, they actually provided me home cooked meal. Vijaya is a superb cook! So, it became unspoken agreement that they will leave food for me if they cook from Mon-Fri and every weekend, I'll cook them a nice Chinese meal.

So, in those days, if anyone wants Indian food, I say no, its not nice. I get better meal - at home! :0 ... Yes, my taste bud is spoilt by Vijaya's fantastic cooking :0..

Yesterday was Walter's 15th birthday and he has been waiting for his banana leaf meal ever since he came back late Dec. After 3 months of patiently waiting, he got his "dream" meal! We went to Apollo Banana Leaf in Little India. At 2pm, the place was still packed with people. We ordered butter chicken, crab and the famous fish head curry. The fish head curry was good , butter chicken is new to me, I have not tasted it before. But was a little disappointed with the crab --- eeerrr ... I think I cook better crab curry ... thanks to Vijaya off course. I picked up some of her cooking skills and great recipes.

The meal reminds me so much of my regular visits to Raju's in Jalan Gasing. I think that its still the best decent place to eat banana leaf meal -- in KL, Jb and Spore .... it is still the best place. But I have not gone back to this place past 10 years. I hope that the quality of food is still the same - I remember - the owner drives a green Jaguar!

Would I go back to Apollo? Yea .... I will but I don't I'll order the crab or the butter chicken. Maybe I'll try something else like the masala prawn or their sotong curry.

This boy really really gets the best of both worlds and he surely enjoying it! Thanks for inviting me!

Inspector Coming!

Yup! Its the time of the term ... again .. where we need to clean up our rooms and cluster for INSPECTION!!!! Aaarrrhhh .... its not a good time of the term where its right after our 2 weeks mid term break .. and break time is the time of crazy dono doing what ...:0 ... ai ...

The warden comes around every term to check our rooms .... to check if its neat , clean, the fans are clean (our fan is to be off when the warden step into our room) or the room is spiderweb free ... m sure glad that this is the last time m going thru this process ... spent 2.5hrs cleaning up my tiny room ..... its either I want to "spoilt market" as my neighbour says or my room is like tong sampah!!!

Soon .... very soon ... I have to say bye2 to this cozy little nest that God has given me past 3 years.

Come Home Running Mode (Chris Tomlin)

Am on emo-land today .. the sky seem to cloudy and day is blue ... why ... hahaha ... maybe 2 weeks hols have gone by just like that and I have not done much school work at all (stress ah..)..... or its just the final lap of running ..... tired .... but this song playing in my mind and heart whole morning ....... and even now as I type .... its on replay mode .... emo-ing along with me ...

Its so easy for our heart to stray and we loose our focus in life .. allowing things in life to overwhelm us, drown us .... and things start to get blurry ....

So, let's come home running just as we are .... no matter what state we are ... He understands the situation our heart and will fix us up ... and keep our hearts and eyes focused on the finish line ... removing all the obstacles that have come along and giving us the strength .... so that we will once again run and not be weary, walk and not be faint .... Yes, His name is Jesus and He understands ...

Run to Jesus ooo my soul ..... be still ... wait for Him ...... rest in Him ................

Come Home Running (Chris Tomlin)

Oh heart of mine, why must you stray?
From one so fair you run away

And one more time you have to pay

The heaviness of needless shame

So come home running

His arms are open wide
His name is Jesus
He understands
He is the answer You are looking for
So come home running

Just as you are

So come home running
His arms are open wide
His name is Jesus
He understands
He is the answer You are looking for
So come home running

Just as you are

So come home running ...... Just as you are .....

Snacks from Meow2 Town

I bit kampung la ... I have never seen this snack before in my life till dear Candy gave it to me .... when she came back from Meow2 town in Sarawak. According to her - its their local snack there and its common ... guess it must be like our Him Hiang Tau Sai Peng or Gula Melaka or even chinchalok.

This is made from Sagu flour mixed with coconut, sugar, egg and margarine. and it is called "tabaloi". No wonder it looks like yellow biscuit. Perhaps it is a Iban specialty. We surely dont find it here in West Malaysia.

Candy also brought me (I asked her too.. hehehe) pepper!! Sawarak pepper is the best! Love them! Very fragrant!

So,one of the things that I will miss in TTC is Gula2's company ... which we have been pressing her to answer this question : How are you going to cope when we are gone? What will happen to you? This is a second year who's trapped in the good company of third year students! LOL ....

... Lesson learnt .... Simplicity ....

Within one week, the Lord taught me the lesson of simple living .... and this is what I want in life ... a life lived in its fullness of His love and grace in simplicity ... not complication ...

Simple living means I will need to have less things in my house .... simple living means I should not have more than I need ... I should not hoard God's blessings in my life by storing them up somewhere ... waiting for the right moment to be used. Simple living means ... I will not trouble people, instead be a complete blessing to others. When God sees to my needs ... He will surely see to it well ... all in order .... smoothly, hassle free ....

So, what is my two precious lesson that I learn in within this week :

a) HHD
I needed a HHD and checked the market pricing in KL, Jakarta and Spore ... this is the blessing of having connections in the PC world. I discovered that KL is the cheapest. But to in order to get this product all the way from KL .. u jus imagine the trouble I need to put the chain of people in .... so, I decided to buy the product in Spore ... after all, the difference is NOT in thousands ... or even hundreds ... I should not be so calculative but be a wise steward of God's blessings.

Just as I told my frd in Spore my decision, she arranged for her colleague who went to the PC fair on a special pass to purchase one for me as a gift to me!!! See how God surprise me when I decided not to trouble people but to be a blessing instead.

b) Spore HP No
I've been using a Spore phone line under corporate rate -- under this rate, get to enjoy 15-20% discount on monthly bill etc .... then suddenly my sim card died on me yesterday after using this sim card for 2yrs, 10mths! The Lord will not resurrect it even for just 2more months because He wants me to learn my lesson well.

So, down I went to the telco's service centre .... low and behold, they cannot change the sim card without the person's original IC or a letter of empowerment to me. The best part is, I told the guy at the counter that I am using my friend's line and I don't even pay the bill (which is partially true) ... so, what that make me ... the line owner's mistress? The owner happen to be a very nice Indian man. Scandalous! Then, the most troublesome part is, I will be leaving Spore in 2mths time and again I have to trouble my friend to either call in or write in to cancel the line ...

I had to make a decision again and I have decided not to trouble people anymore ... God will see to my every need because I am His servant ... I do not need to trouble people to help meet my needs .... so, I decided to ask my friend who happen to move to KL a year ago to call in to cancel his line for me and I just pop over the counter to buy myself a pre-paid phone card ... though the charges is higher and much lower benefits .... but why worry -- the Lord will meet my needs -- if they are genuinely a need and not want! ...:0... God's hands is never too short to provide or supply the best for His servant.

So, this is two little reminders as I step into the next phase of life where simplicity is what I hope to live by .... and what I told the Lord I wanted in life Dec 2009.

A true servant of God will always seek to be a blessing to others and put others ahead of himself/herself.

"Each of you should look not only to your own interests,
but also to the interests of others."
Phil 2 : 4

Fill My Cup Lord ....

Being in full time servant of the Lord is a tiring and draining business God had been challenging me again - where my supplies come from ?

Oswald Chambers made this radical statement that was stuck in my brains for few days - “Spiritual exhaustion never comes through sin but only through service, and whether or not you are exhausted will depend upon where you get your supplies. Before other souls learn to draw from on the life of Jesus direct, they have to learn to draw on it through you; you will literally be “sucked” until they learn to take their nourishment from God. We have no right to say “O Lord, I am exhausted” because He saved and sanctified you in order to exhaust you. Be exhausted for God but remember that you supply comes from Him.”

This is a radical truth - we are created to love and serve Him whole heartedly. As how Jesus body was broken and life poured out for us, let us be the broken bread and poured-out wine for His people. But let us consciously make Him our Source, let us ensure that we have eaten our daily manna so that we can feed His lamb and sheep.

Go to Him first for our supply and b
e feed to the fullest first. Let this chorus be the prayer every morning :

"Fill my cup Lord

I lift it up Lord

Come and quench

This thristy of my soul

Bread of heaven

Feed me till I want no more

Fill my cup

Fill it up and make me whole"

And for those of are sincerely tired and weary, what can we do? Go to Him for He has promise us Isaiah 40:31 - He will renew our strength and we will run and not grow weary, walk and not faint ....
